A company you can trust.
Amazing customer service! Wanted to lead with this because I had an issue about 6 months in whereby the guage was draining batteries within days. I contacted the company and they sent me a whole new unit. Promptly and kindly. The unit works great and I appreciate the history it keeps. It’s as accurate as I need it to be. The only thing I wish is that it would give outside temp, but not a big deal.Easy to assemble and set up. I would definitely purchase from this company again.

Mostly Good, but major issues!!
Worked off and on for 2.5 years, the biggest problem with it was birds pooping in it and spiders getting inside and building nests. I put a tiny bit of chlorine tablet inside it, that took care of the spiders and a red flag waving over it, that stopped most of the birds from using it as a landing pad and toilet. Now, the swivel shaft inside is rusted (see picture) and prevents the dipper from moving. If they would spend an extra dollar and use a stainless steel shaft, I would give it a 5 star. I found it to be fairly accurate by comparing it to the swimming pool level.

Better device and app features!
Great app! No longer having to work at pulling rainfall on recent dates as the app records amounts by actual dates and not just by a number of days past. Precision of .01" is also a gotta-have feature over most other systems with .04" minimum measurement.

Yes!
My husband loves this! He’s a weatherman at heart and he can see the temp outside the rain, it’s easy to use, easy to install, will definitely buy again if something happens to our other one!

Seriously flawed design
This was designed by someone who had not heard of surface tension, followed probably by marketing deciding to sell it anyway after testing it. The basic problem is the funnel is far too flat and light rain simply beads up and does not flow down right away into the tipping bucket. Eventually droplets do coalesce together and get to the bucket, but the rain measurements such as hourly and rain rate are meaningless. I intended this to be a backup for my Ambient Weather Station (which BTW is well worth the money) in case its funnel clogged up. I also have a Stratus manual rain gauge for calibrating the station, so I have real, trustworthy data to compare it too.Presumably this gauge does better as the rain rate increases, but since it is totally worthless for measuring typical Seattle rain, I returned it before I got the chance to test that. Other reviews have suggested it is also worthless at very high rain rates. There might be some intermediate rain rates where it does ok, but you may never know when that is because clearly its acccuracy (using the term very loosely) is a function of the rain rate and surface tension of the funnel surface at the time it is raining. The one redeeming feature of this instrument (and is one reason I purchased it) is that it can be calibrated (in the software). However, other than that the display and software is only marginally ok. I never could figure out what the hokey bars on the left were supposed to show. But so what if the basic measurements are garbage...As for installation, it needs to provide easy ability to install to a vertical surface, as others have mentioned. For a country that can return moon samples to earth I expect a lot better.

Attractive, rugged, easy to install and use.
After having several high-priced, big name weather stations destroyed by ant infestations, I decided to buy separate temperature and raingauge systems. Only the raingauge would remain at the location the previous systems had occupied, and it needed to be sealed against ants getting into the electronics. The ECOWITT WH5360B appeared to meet that requirement so I ordered one. I was delighted when I unpacked it. The unit was indeed sealed and except for the mechanical tipping bucket mechanism that had to be open to the rainfall, everything was totally enclosed in a plastic housing with no entrances for small pests. The tipper sent its tips to the electronics with a magnet, so there were no wires to be chewed and no holes for wires were needed. The assembly instructions, both the text and the drawings, were clear and easy to follow. All the necessary parts were provided except for the batteries (1 AA lithium for the sensor and 3 AA alkaline or lithium for the console). The console had no trouble locking onto the sensor's signal and it has never lost connectivity since I installed the sensor about 50 feet away from the house. The calibration feature deserves comment. Several reviewers complained about its accuracy and that had concerned me. This unit is exceptional in that it has an internal electronic calibration setting that can be adjusted any of three ways. There is a procedure presented in the manual using rainfall collected from the gauge after a storm, or you can pour known amounts of water SLOWLY into the gauge, or you can compare the reading with a nearby gauge of known calibration. Any of them will work. Unless your unit is actually malfunctioning, you should have accurate readings if you take the time to calibrate it.Both the sensor and the console look nice. The display is an attractive addition to the wall in our Florida room and we have been delighted with its performance.
