That was a bit better tan nothing but the neck of the uke kept ...

I am a brand new uke player as of Christmas. Never played anything before in my life. That said, I have been keeping my instrument up high for two reasons. 1.) have needed to see the strings while I learn. 2.) Because I have had to hold my instrument with the inside of my right elbow. It has also been difficulty for me to focus on the finger/fret movement because I have also had to hold the uke with my thumb. It also made my shoulder really g tight. Between the shoulders and the thumb and the elbow working so hard, I could not relax. I just got my strap today. I tried the method where the strap goes around the neck and hooks into the hole of the uke. That was a bit better tan nothing but the neck of the uke kept flopping around. So I tried the method that wraps around the shoulder. That was MUCH better. I LOVE the fact that the second way can hold the neck so it won't flop around and my thumb does not have to actually hold the instrument up. HOWEVER, I am a 45 yr adult adult and there is simply not enough strap left over to begin to wrap around my arm. I already know that if it was longer I could relax my shoulders and drop it down which is probably proper form. I don't want to pick up bad habits while I am teaching myself. So I am ordering ANOTHER strap just like it so I can lengthen it. I realize I could prob go to a fabric store and purchase the same type of strap. But I also want the plastic connectors. I intend to modifiy this. It is a GREAT idea... but does not work for me as manufactured. I hope to come up with a new way that does not go under my armpit because that was a little uncomfortable also when I moved the strap to the arm end just to see how it would feel ( even though then it was WAY too short to reach the neck when I did that. This might be alright for a small child, or an adult that wants to use is and put it in the hole. But if you need the neck of the uke held so it does not flop around, this won't work for you... It is cheap enough It is inexpensive enough that it seems it would easy enough for the company to add another $5-10 and add another foot or so of strap. I am going to end up spending that anyway. Would be nice to come from the manufacturer ready to use and not have to modify it. I will write another review after I see what I do.

It works! No need to install a button. It is a little fiddly and noisy though.

The strap is well made and works as promised.Pros:-low cost, -simple to employ or remove without installing a button on the uke, -adjustable length, -works when seated, lying, or standing, -compact, -stabilizes the instrument for easier chord fingering.Cons:-insecure; you must hold the instrument with your hands or it will drop, -doesn't fit well in my sofr-sided gig bagI rate this highly because it does what it's supposed to do and because it helps me to be able to pull off difficult cord fingerings. I use it all the time now.November 12, 2015. I've used it some more and have more impressions. Dropping to four stars mainly because it bothers me that the connector rests behind the uke and makes almost continuous contact with thr back. This makes an echoing light bang-y sound, and I assume that iver time it will make smoother spots on the finish of my uke. I don't think.it will actually scratch it though. If I was goi g to settle in to long term use of a product like this, I would need the length of the piece that attaches to the uke lengthened such that it no longer contacts the instrument. This mod seems doable simply by lengthening the strap a little in production so I will watch to see if it's incorporated.Another concern I have is to the effect of the connector on the edges of the sound hole, as well as the surrounding finish. Will long term daily use this is inevitable. I have two ideas to address this. One is some sort of soft lining inside the attaching piece. The other is to have the connecting piece set up with a screw down clamp so it would stay attached to the instrument all the time until I unscrewed it. This would minimize the rubbing against the front and sound hole edges. It would also be more secure, and easier to use on a regular basis.Another modification I'd like is to be able to unclick from the instrument and have my remaining piece to be connected sort of like a necklace. That would facilitate taking breaks with minim strap fiddling. It would also allow one to switch from one instrument to another with minimal strap fuss. This mod would require a change of the connector, which has greater implications. One would have to source the new connector and deplete or sell off supplies of the existing connector, so a bigger deal than the first mod.If any of my suggestions seem worthy of trying to the maker of this fine product, I will be happy to correspond further and more directly if needed to clarify my suggestions.Regards, Dennis

Great strap!! Store service! Be aware of your instrument

This is a great strap! I use it in the third position , which is around the arm and headstock. It works like a ukulele leash. I did not want to use it around my neck, because I was too nervous about scratching up my ukulele. I felt the strap was a little short, so I contacted customer service. They replied to my email promptly and sent me an extension to add to the strap. I received it a few days later. My ukulele and I thank you for a great product and your excellent customer service.A side note:I found that wrapping a small rubber band around the hook helps keep it securely in place so that it does notslip or rattle around. Though (without the rubber band) it did add a nice percussive sound to the ukulele, I did not want to take a chance of the plastic hook scratching up my uke.A customer request: I would love to see this strap in different color designs. 🙂

Solid Product, really bad picks though.

Easy to install, manual was very easy to follow but the picks that came with had gunk and were really poor quality.

Just a little too short.

Too short for me.

As advertised

I’ve used it a few times. As a new Uke player, I’ve been struggling with good playing posture (NB- very clear differences here between most men and most women). The strap does what it says, seems decent quality, but I still keep looking for the right combo to get comfy with this instrument.

Great Strap, Great Seller!

Great strap for my Ukulele. I personally love the fact that it is a neck strap, and doesn't require it to go over your shoulder. When I received the first strap there was a defect where the strap was twisted the wrong way. I contacted the seller, sent them a picture (they didn't request, I just did it), and they immediately saw the problem. They shipped me out a brand-new one, and didn't even require me to ship back the defective one. Great product, great service. I recommend it/them!

Not for me.

I bought this because I bought a new uke. Uke came with regular strap. I tried both and like the regular strap more. With the regular strap you can let the uke go and it hangs there. This may be perfect for somebody, just not me.
