great book. Wonderful history of pearls, where they are found all over the world, their costs, the expense it takes to obtain them. The great about pearls these days, is that pearls require a pristine to grow in, and in order to have a pearl farm.

Still holds up...but if you can find the original never let it go !!!

The most comprehensive, brilliantly illustrated book on pearl history available.So glad it's in paperback now since hard covers are over $1,000. :)

The book is great. Very informative.

I'm very disappointed, bad choice. This big book, about 548 pages is full of history, but not of the beauty of the pearls, not of full color pictures. If you find 20 pictures in black and white you are lucky. Expensive for what you get inside. May be for someone that only want history but if you want see pearls and compere them, you will not find that in this book.I don't recommend this book for somebody that want to learn and also see the art and beauty of the pearls.

Looking forward to reading this - quite a challenge but the other Pearl guides refer to this as THE BOOK!

Very disappointed. Such a lot a high powered technical waffle. The book it's self is a paper back with very poor print quality on very thin paper. The few photos are dreadful quality.
