The woofers in my Klipsch Promedia 4.1 computer stereo speaker system failed. The foam 'surrounds' to the paper cones disintegrated (otherwise they were fine). Not wanting to pay $26 for the re-foam surround kit, I decided to replace them with these MCM 55-1862's (spec's match, with the MCM's having a bit of an edge & in my opinion, higher quality. Oh yeah, and HUGE magnets).Gawd... (!)They SO outperform the Klipsch woofers, there is no comparison. These have aluminum cones w/ rubber surrounds which look like they'll last forever. The extended-length voice coil drivers REALLY wail-out the lower frequencies. Yes! exceptionally low for there size - SHEESH!. Not only is my system an excellent sound-system, but it is also an 'E' ticket ride with these 6.5" MCM drivers resonating thru your body...Very satisfied. Would suggest this upgrade to anyone!

I ordered this woofer to replace the 55-1860 which was discontinued. Works great but has a slightly deeper mounting depth.
