Perfect!
Yes, I could have made my own, but I was lazy and bought this. Extremely happy with it. Both my dogs can ride now with no issues. Doesn't bring them too close to the edge and they don't get tangled up. They also haven't weakened or fully rusted. Been using about 3 months, and I go through the car wash all the time too. My dogs know not to pull on it though. It's not going to hold a dog going full force against it. Dog safe and appropriate, dog mom approved!

Safe puppies!
My dogs love their trips to the dog park. With 3 huskies though it can get crazy if they all ride in the back seat.We modified our truck bed to have 6 inch thick foam padding , so their paw pads don't get hurt or hot.My last concern was if they got to excited and fell out. So we got harnesses and this amazing chain hooks and now they have flexibility to move but not so much they are at risk

Happy with this product
I have had to modify this product a little bit with heavy duty carabiners to accommodate VERY strong dogs but overall I am happy with this product so far.

Overall, this product serves its purpose. The chain is slightly smaller than how it looks in the pictures, but it’s definitely heavy duty enough to restrain even the biggest dogs. One improvement would be to make the two tie-outs a few inches longer. As it is, they’re shorter than the distance from the center of the main chain to the end. This means two things: 1) that I can’t clip the collar clips to the carabiners for storage, and 2) that my dogs can’t get quite close enough to the truck rail. I understand that there’s a safety aspect, but my dogs constantly tried to see around the cab, straining themselves and their collars, but couldn’t reach because the chain is too short.In the end, I bought two more quick links and another 6 inches of chain for each end. After extending the tie-outs, the system is excellent.-GO

Cheap and unsafe
I bought this over last winter and used it for the first time today... when we got to our final destination my smaller (under 40 lb) dog jumped out the tail gate before I could unhook her and the chain fitting completely failed! Last time I'll ever buy something of Amazon ahead of time or of impulse buy... Window for returning expired months ago... 😒
