Got what I paid for

The title of my review doesn't seem to indicate anything good, but it actually was. These did look kind of cheap and flimsy when you first take them out of the packaging, but once they're installed, they look a lot better. It isn't antique quality or anything, but for the price, this was exactly what I was expecting. They look decent, and do their job. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Worked perfectly for what I needed

So many new employees and no way to attach names to mailboxes and tape was definitely NOT working. These were quick and easy to install. They actually look better than the few old ones we had that were made different. People with the old name holders wanted these to replace their old ones

Tea time

I made my daughter a cabinet for her many, many teas. I painted these label holders black before screwing them on the drawers. It turned out beautifully.

Kinda flimsy, but did the trick

I bought these storage cubes from Container Store but they didn't have label holders. I like these cubes better than the ones Target sells to go with the shelving unit I got, but I digress. The label holders did the trick and the screws that came with it are the perfect length for the Container Store cubes! Great value too because a lot came with this order, which is great because I bent a few while trying to attach them to the cubes.

Works fine, but check the measurements

These label holders are easy to install with appropriate tools, such as a couple of small machinist's squares, a magnifier, a small pick, and a #1 Phillips screwdriver. (Mark and poke holes in soft wood with the pick to start the screws, though one might need to be more precise in oak, say.)Note that the label aperature measures 42.1x10.2mm (not 44x10mm). Cut thin cardstock (e.g., unruled notecards) to about 46x14mm or 1-13/16" x 9/16" for a label that will fit into the slot without a lot of slop.In any case, verify the measurements yourself, since they may not match those in the listing (or mine). Otherwise, the holders were fine... apparently about the same as several other brands currently listed on Amazon, but these seemed as good as any and cheaper than some.

Installation Tips

These are what you would expect for the money. Not super thick but they are fine. Here are some installation tips:1) Clear the room of children, there will be swearing.2) Put a towel under where you are working so when the tiny screws fall to the ground, and they will, you can just shake out the towel.3) Don’t skip drilling pilot holes, the screws are so small, it’s easier if you can push them into a hole. You will need a tiny drill bit or nail scissors or a sharp narrow awl. Use the thumb of your opposite hand to steady the bottom of the screw when you screw it in.4) Use a weak tacky tape - like masking tape - to hold your placement. Be sure to adjust and check after your first hole.5) If you are using a label maker, the .47 12mm size will leave a gap. Either get a bigger size or peel back the top sticky part so you can place it on the surface. Don’t peel the bottom, it will get stuck before you place it. Alternatively, it would also be easy to use file tabs, like the ones that go on hanging files, they are the right width.
