The Keyestudio Raspberry Pi Pico is a great little board. For those of you who aren't familiar with or don't prefer to program in Python, this kit is for you. 100% compatible with Arduino IDE, 32 bit, lots of ram, large flash, SPI, I2 and the list goes on and on and on. IF YOU TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!!

I've reviewed starter kits like this before. This kit is targeted for the Raspberry Pi, however, it can be used with other boards (Arduino for example) as well.The main feature that targets this kit as a RPi one, is the GPIO Extension Board that connects directly to the RPi and allows you to solder headers to it and place it on a Breadboard for easy GPIO access.Other than that, the sensors, motors, displays and other accessories are quite standard.It is a great collection of all the starter items you will need in one kit and can help you learn many programming and hardware fundamentals with the provided 32 projects (you can find all the resources in the KEYESTUDIO wiki page).I have attached a picture of all of the included parts of the kit.The kit comes with a small booklet that lists the included parts and directs you to KEYESTUDIO's resources.It also comes with a small sticker of the resistor color chart, which comes quite handy when you need to choose the correct resistors throughout your projects. It is also a good skill to learn.Using the full blown RPi 3/4 is easier since this kit was designed for it (the extension board), however, it is not a neccesity. You can use the Rpi Pico board and finish all 32 projects to save some $$$.This is definitely a good start if you would like to introduce you child (or yourself) to the STEM world, but note that there are easier starter kits out there if you are totally clueless about programming or using electronic hardware. If you are looking for something more basic, I would suggest to go with an Arduino kit instead.I hope this helps and good luck with your projects!
