Excellent. Exactly what I wanted. Spiral bound journal to use with ages 3-5 year olds. Each two-page spread has the letter and a sample word at the top, then spaces for 7 words to be written. Has a place to draw a picture for each word. There are 24 assignments (as XYZ are combined). There are also tracing pages for the alphabet at the start and end of the book. Assignments are left in the journal so students can reflect back on the words they have learned or add additional ones when they learn them. The paper quality was exceptional. Cover is nice and sturdy compared to journals I typically purchase. Extremely pleased especially with the price at Lakeshore which was around 3 dollars
