I’ve used this in situations where an N95 wasn’t available or may be inadequate. When I first used one, there were NO N95’s available. But they had a PAPR available for use. I was a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure if it was going to get too hot or fog up. So I put it on, the helmet wasn’t too heavy. They turned the fan on and then I put on my protective clothing and equipment. It was actually surprisingly pleasant and comfortable. The flow of filtered air from the fan was like a light breeze and cooling. It was different from wearing an N95, a mask on top of that and then a face shield. That’s usually a hot and foggy experience, which this was not.As for the reviewers saying that this thing isn’t for for front-line medical workers because it doesn’t filter gases or vapors, um, a virus that’s aerosolized or floating around in a respiratory droplet, is exactly that, a particle. Which is what it filters. A N95 doesn’t filter gases either. It filters 95% of particles of a certain size. I wish people would stop spewing out false information.That being said, this a fairly expensive piece of equipment. You may run into bureaucrats and administrators, who although they failed to provide you with adequate PPE, will not allow you to use your own superior equipment.Good luck to you all and keep safe.

Came as described and an upgraded version of what we use at work. I am an icu nurse and this is definitely an treat to own my own and not having to share one at work . The features on this is similar to the heavier version the TR 600 but in a light package. The helmet is a bit heavy but securely fits the face . I use another 3m hood that is very light weight now so I will save this hood that came with the package when we run out at work . For the review that speaks to using this in non covid situation i fear she or he does not work as an ICU nurse . This unit is graded for use to fight even Ebola ( and yes we have used it as such ) .

The picture shows prefilters included, as does the 3m website.None of the 4 units I ordered came with it. The website for support says call 3m, who directed me to versaflo who directed me back to amazon. Its an incomplete package

I bought this unit because I work in very high dust environments. Such as: residential demolition, wood working, HVAC, welding, concrete mixing, mortar mixing... I have terribly bad allergies and I am constantly exposed to large amounts of fine particulate, which are hazardous over long term exposure. The unit is just as simple to use and more comfortable than the standard 3m full face respirator. I chose to upgrade, because I perspire a lot while working in general and even more when wearing the full face respirator.This unit when you start it up and then put it on according the manual, eliminates labored breathing, one way flaps getting stuck and provides great airflow across your face. I am 6’ 1” tall and the hose doesn’t put any tension while bending down or squatting. The battery charged with in about an hour or so. The filter is solid and relatively easy to change. My only recommendation is to get a hard hat liner and consider purchasing the backpack accessory for this, so it doesn’t cause the all to common plumbers crack. Otherwise, 3M has done a great job on designing this product.

Great airflow, long lasting battery, comfortable. I use to when woodturning, especially when I power sand. I don't have to worry about the face shield fogging up or getting too hot.

It was way too top heavy for my head. I'm a female 5 foot 8 and I had to return...it was way too big and would only cause neck pain after 5 minutes of wearing

Great product! I feel protected wearing it. Construction is durable and buying parts is no issue at all.Seller is equally admirable. They personally dropped it off to make sure I get it on time. 🙏🙏

This is to replace a Racal helmet which I used for many years until I lost it in a fire. I knew what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at the many design improvements. In my opinion simply the best.
