We are very pleased with this set. Models are simple enough and quick enough to build that our 4yo can enjoy them while still challenging him and being fun. We can then explore the mechanics of them by swapping gears and such to see what makes them go faster (not part of the instructions). Excellent starter kit for an introduction into "Lego technic" type sets. My only critic is that the Instructions could use a little bit more clarity. Some pieces aren't shown being installed on shafts (for example) very clearly and you basically have to realize and find them. FYI, The second model in the instructions didn't move properly until we swapped which legs the one way clips were on (front vs back legs). Then it worked properly.

I tried to give my grandson this set to get him to create something useful with gears and wheels and things instead of just building yet another Star Wars Morph Droid Attack Squadron Fighter Space Jet from a set following step by step instructions. I don't think he actually did anything with it, but I tried.

My 5 year old is obsessed with all things lego, blocks, etc. He wanted to be able to build something with a motor, so I decided to give this set a shot. It is SO MUCH FUN! The step-by-step instruction booklet allows the kids to create multiple builds and the motor really does work. Very cool gift for kids who love to create or for adults who like to tinker.

The instruction manual can be confusing, because of the way they used colors. It can be hard to differentiate the black and blue.There aren't a lot of projects and some just dont make sense. The one with the working fan is on wheels but the wheels have no function. It was a little disappointing.My son loved the motor, it is why we got the set. Unfortunately the wiring didnt hold up and the motor broke within about 2 weeks. I'm trying to fix it but it's fickle.UPDATED: After my review, the seller reached out to me and offered to replace the item. I think that their willingness to make the customer happy means a lot.

My 7yo has taken some afterschool Lego engineering classes. He wanted to build at home. This was the closest I could find based on his descriptions of the in-class builds. I wanted a kit of parts that made multiple projects vs. one larger project. He likes it and can build it himself. The instructions are good but the print quality could be a little better. He iterates with the other pieces in the set. We've already bought one set of gears to expand. If they made another set with different projects, I would probably buy it.

My son loves this set. He's 7 years old and really into robots and legos. He want3d some stem toys so he could make things that moved. This was the perfect set. Several different model choices. Instructions are easy to follow. Set is sturdy and great for elementary school ago. Fun for hours.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this set for less than just the name brand motor would have cost and it didn't disappoint in the least. The instructions can be a little difficult for younger individuals and some of the pieces fit a bit on the snug side but I've already recommended this set to others. 4.5/5
