When my unit stopped receiving outdoor information I purchased this replacement sensor.Now I'm able to get the updates and they are more accurate according to the weather channel app.These do run the batteries down fast so I switched to battery eliminators and no more wasting money on batteries.Search Amazon for 3v AA battery eliminators, they work but you will need a 5v phone charger and access to a 110v plug.

Bought this to replace the remote sensor for a unit that I purchased in 2019. The unit picks up the remote sensor without any issue. Lesson learned, I will place this remote in a more shelter area to better protect it's color (the old sensor turned to pale yellow). The readings seem accurate. The 2 AA batteries (not included) last a while. The sensor size is small and there are holes to drill into a surface. But I am going to attach chain to hang it instead (in case I need to change to a different location later). Overall, I am glad that I can purchase just the remote sensor because the unit itself is working great. Amazon sells a weather station with a remote sensor for about $17 more though.

I had my doubts, however this sending unit worked perfect with my four year old display "C85845v4" . The original sending unit, the "TX141TH-BV3 was fine for three years and seven months. It became intermittent; sometimes quit altogether, sometimes worked for a day or two; sometimes worked for a couple hours etc. It's also priced reasonably. La Cross should create a sending unit that lasts longer than a couple years. Overall, very pleased. grh

Updated review from one to five:I called the customer support line and they walked me through determining that this sensor (TX141) is not the right one for my wall unit, which requires a sensor model TX151.I have the option of buying a TX 151 when they become available or buying a full weather station with outdoor sensor with a 45% coupon from lacrosse.Can’t get it to work or communicate with my other lacrosse devices.

La Crosse Technology Wireless Outdoor Temp Sensor is not available by La Crosse anymore and difficult to find for replacement. If you have an older weather station by this company and your sensor went bad, this is the best replacement to get. Best price and brand new, excellent quality. Put batteries in, synced and it works great.Suggestion: Purchase the protection shield cover too. Your sensor will last years longer.
