FPS DISTRIBUTION PMA LPG Leak Detector 500ml Aerosol

As a first time user of this product I did not know what to expect of it. Instructions required that the can be given a good shake before use, but no matter for how long I shook it - and in the end I shook it for several minutes - the contents came out as a 'spurty' mixture of foam and plain liquid. The small amounts of foam that I could generate would wrap around and cling to the copper pipe connectors well, and seemed to me to be the better way to reveal a leak. However, the liquid which spurted out much of the time would wash off any of the foam, and ran down the pipes and dripped freely off into the void beneath. On close inspection the liquid did appear to settle in a very thin meniscus in parts of the joint, and I suppose this would have revealed any leaks too, but not very obviously. In my case, and I'm sure for many, it is not possible to view the connection from every side - I did try using a piece of mirror, which helped - so the foam would have given a much better chance of spotting a stream of bubbles.So I made the best of it, and as there's no smell of gas, I'm hoping all's well.This is definitely not a product I would buy again.
