I am so glad I found this!!
I have used this in the past, but then could not find it anymore. Why don't more companies make algae oil?? It is the perfect oil! Omega 3 to omega 6 ratios, allows high heat cooking with its high smoke point, and flavorless allowing the flavors of the food you are cooking to shine through. Not a bad price at all, though of course I wish it cost less, especially for how often we use it. If you aren't familiar with algae oil, it works just like any other oil, but the health benefits are phenomenal. Please keep making this product!!

Deceptively Great Cooking Oil
My husband and I heard about algae oil on Food Network. We we saw it, we balked at it as to "is this such a thing...and why such a thing exists?" Per the celebrity chef, algae oil have a very high smoke point. Skeptical, we purchased it. Well, the joke is on us because algea oil is really good! Great for sauté and searing, the smoke point is up to 500 degrees in the oven and high temps on the stove. The flavor is neutral and doesn't have a algae flavor as one would suspect (as it's perfectly distilled without the gross refinements). In addition to frying, searing, and sauteing, this specific brand is also for making vinaigrettes, salad dressings, and a finishing oil.Highly recommend!

Great, versatile vegetable oil alternative
I bought this because of my high cholesterol. I previously used canola oil for cooking and olive oil for salad, which I may continue doing. I am not fond of Avocado oil or other “fancy” oils, which are expensive and too precious.Thrive is a neutral oil, which works across cooking and salads. I used it to sauté veggies and it is was light with no addition of flavor. Which means my kids will eat it.In salads it replaces olive oil, although I will continue to use olive oil as well if I want the flavor.Lastly, I shallow fried some French fries and it worked like a charm. No smoke. No greasy cooking air or smell. Fries came out crispy and the pan did not have any additional clean up because the oil didn’t break down.I have not used for baking yet, but I will be trying that next.

Yummy and great for frying
I was recently put on a "heart healthy" diet by my GP and so I went in search of new everyday oil, and Thrive absolutely fit the bill. I dreaded giving up on all fried foods, but now with Thrive I can indulge/maybe even cheat a little. ;) The super high smoke point is great and I found that my fired veggie dishes (fried zucchini vs french fries) are crispy and delicious. I don't feel guilty knowing that the oil I'm using now is both heart healthy and yummy. There was very little oil splash and virtually no smoke to stink up my house. I also found that now that I'm eating more salads, the thrive has a clean taste that lets the flavor of the veggies & herbs in my dressing shine through.

Why Lie
I used to buy Thrive's Algea oil a few years ago until they went out of business and I was so sorry to hear that because it was considered as the top quality oil there was for cooking. Now I was encouraged to see them again and immediately ordered 2 bottles. How disappointed I was to learn that 1: This is a mix of Algea and Sunflower oil (sunflower is #1 ingredient). 2: The bottle is a cheap plastic one compared to the glass bottle previously used. Anyway - I do not intend to use this oil and continue to stick to Avocado oil until there's a credible producer of Algea oil.

I loved it!
It is a high smoke point oil with no taste of alge! It's honestly a wonderful product for the price that you pay. I used it to season my carbon steel pans and used it in salads. It's so versatile, I love it! From high heat to no heat it's an overall amazing oil!

So glad it's back (just in time)!
Thrive was always my favorite culinary oil. Neutral light mouth feel for dressings, a high smoke point for frying, and high oleic for health. I'm so glad it's back!I just finished my last bottle of the original Thrive (which I had stored in a wine cooler) when I noticed this was back on sale; I had enough left to do a head-to-head comparison of taste. Same light neutral mouth feel and mild taste. I also used it for frying fish last night and the performance was the same.(I purchased the Premier oil which is less expensive and has a high oleic sunflower blended in; I believe the composition is very similar to the algae oil.)
