Great for Mixing!
I make sourdough and this is so amazing to use when mixing my starter or stirring up my discard before use. I would say that you need to use an olive oil or Pam cooking spray to keep them looking nice, but overall it is definitelyworth the money. Size and weight are great. Highly recommend!

Pretty at first
These spurtles arrived nicely and were very aesthetically pleasing at first. However, using them is a different story. I bought them after seeing so many on social media use these wood spurtles with their sourdough starter. The wood gets very rough after one gentle hand wash. The sheen completely fades too. Each time I have used the spurtle to stir my starter, I have ended up with calluses. A tool to assist you in the kitchen should not cause blisters and pain, it should help make the job easier. I switched to my silicone spatula/scraper and no blisters and no pain. I thought maybe it was a fluke with the spurtle so I tried again. Again, the wood spurtle left me with calluses. So these are a no go for me. You probably have to oil them to keep them from turning dull. They might be ok as a kitchen ornament, but it is a big no from me. I got influenced on social media. A waste of money and painful blisters. Disappointed. I will stick with silicone to protect my hands while working with sourdough starter.
