After I installed mine I visited a church and found they had this same item down their halls for the members to use.....they too were in great working condition. Don't be afraid to purchase. This model is very close to the wall. Each hook extends approx. 1.5" when opened. Large enough for your purse straps. I do recommend that you find a stud or two (or use the plastic anchors) when you screw into the wall....it allows for more items to be hung without fear of ripping out the drywall. Would I buy again? I have one of these by our garage door for coats, hoodies, scarves, etc. and one in my home gym for bands, straps, etc. I love the sleek look and they hold quite a bit.

I know the brand so went with it even though it was a little pricier than others that looked the same. I also ordered the less expensive brands afterwards and they are being returned because the pegs are hard to pull down. This slight detail makes a world of difference. Save yourself from the return hassle and get this one. Great quality.

I purchased several of these as towel racks and coat hangers. They look very nice and the hooks tuck away when not in use. They are also very sturdy and quick and easy to install.

This 8 hook option fits perfectly in space near our back door - great for catching those frequently used jackets and items that you use too often to put in your closet, but still don't want left just lying around. I love the glossy white finish. The hooks themselves are quite sturdy, but in order to make the whole unit secure enough to hold multiple items, it took some modifications. First, we used longer screws than what was supplied with it. Secondly, my handy hubby drilled out holes behind the pegs that aligned with our studs. When the hooks are flipped up, you don't see the screws; and when the hooks are down the jackets cover them up. All in all, I really like it, but not sure how many heavy coats it would hold if not for these changes. I wouldn't say it was an easy install, but definitely doable with a few tools and time. We also bought the 5 hook unit for inside our front door.

I searched high and low for a coat rack. I started looking at the tree type but we really don't have a lot of room in our house and my husband feared it would be bulky and unattractive. My concerns were attractiveness, durability, and most of all price. So far we are very happy with this particular coat rack. We bought the white 8 hook model and installed it in our kitchen hallway that leads to the garage. It is as sleek and attractive as a coat rack can be and the color fits well with our kitchen color scheme. We especially like the ability to fold in the hooks when not in use. Mostly, we are impressed with the fact that it's held up very well to the multiple HEAVY winter coats our family of 4 uses. The template that is included was useful when trying to install the rack--recommendations from my husband: DO use a real level and not your phone's level application as it was not accurate compared to an actual level. Also, it is worth mentioning that we originally wanted to secure this into one of the wall studs to enure it would be sturdy enough for all our coats but we found that if we did it that way, it wouldn't have been centered on the wall-looking very odd and out of place. So, we ended up purchasing 150lb drywall anchors instead of using the one's included and this has worked fine so far. Bottom line: highly recommend this product and for the price, I would definitely buy it again.

I was a little hesitant to buy these since we were replacing a hanger system in our laundry room that had been there for years. We picked this one and I must say after having it for a few months it works great. I like the fact that the hooks are retractable. And it looks very nice when it’s not in use. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a clothes hanging option.

This coat rack is terrific! In our small apartment it is a real space saver. When in use, each hook can be flipped down to hold coats, hats, purses and scarves.
