Who doesn’t love instant pots?!
My mom loves it! I bought it as a gift a few years back. She was wanting an air fryer too so now she’s able to air fry AND instant pot! She still uses it almost daily. She talked me into getting one for myself because of how quickly it cooks the food and how good everything tastes.Well made and easy to use. Hers has held up for years!

It's just the best.
This is my second Duo Crisp Instant Pots. I love it. Use it as a little oven, air fryer, and pressure cooker. Love the ease in cleaning. Food turns out perfect every time.

Easy to use
So easy to use even an old man (lousy cook) can use it and have pretty good tasting results. Cleanup is a breeze.

Cooking simply
Love this so much and I’m sad it took me so long to purchase. It makes cooking a little easier and much healthier with the Air Fryer feature. My kids are able to use it ,with assistance, but they love how easy it is too.

Versatility in exchange for tiny inconvenience
First, it’s important to note I am a long time crockpot user and was hesitant to spend the money on an instant pot that I felt I would not get much use out of. As a stay at home mom, I love the convenience of “dump and go” crockpot meals or a simple one-pot meal I can throw together in my Dutch oven. Many of the instant pot recipes I found on Pinterest were no where near instant after prep, pressurizing, and de-pressurizing time were included. But when we made the decision to start homeschooling, I decided to take the plunge; this model just so happened to come up for sale on Prime Days, so we grabbed one up. Since then, it is safe to say I am an Instant Pot convert! Specifically, these are the things I love:Sauté function - this feature easily removes much of the clean-up involved with other instant pots by converting many meals to one-pot. I love having less dishes! It gets hot enough to cook the things I need it to cook in a timely fashion AND helps speed the process of the heating & pressurizing step that adds inconvenient time to my prep.Versatility - with the instant pot and air fryer, we received a “multi-use metal rack” that has saved the day with Sunday pot roasts and on Thanksgiving! It easily works as a trivet, which adds to the number of delicious meals this thing can cook for you! We have made everything from soup to Thanksgiving Turkey to plain old white rice. Everything has turned out delicious. (Our Turkey was cooked in 30 minutes!)Safety features - I appreciate the convenience and added security of the rotate-to-lock lid, as well as the way it is designed. While the air fryer lid comes with a special platform to keep the lid on when not in use and when hot, the traditional lid was built with pegs to insert into the “handles” of the pot. It’s more convenient than any other old-school lid or pot I’ve used AND it keeps my kids safe from the extremely hot object.Things that kept me from giving 5 stars:Seal ring - the seal will hold the scent of most everything you cook, which turns into more of an odor after a week. That being said, there are relatively simple fixes to this, and I understand that the design/material may have made it impossible to avoid. If you don’t mind taking the time after washing the seal to scrub with a baking soda paste or soak in vinegar, then the odor is not a problem. It is, however, inconvenient to have to do this, as you wash, soak or scrub, and wash again.Cooking guide - as with any new product, there is some trial and error to be expected. I do, however, feel their helpful cooking guide could be updated to reflect the tried-and-true results of users everywhere. We have found that our best bet for getting the best results the first time is going to places like Pinterest, where users have taken the time to test and remake different foods enough times to know what worked for them. It’s usually not far off from the guide, but I do think the consistency of Pinterest versus “professionals” is worth a new update to the guide.“Instant” - let’s be real, no meal is instant except perhaps MREs. If that’s what you’re expecting from this device, I think you’ll be waiting a while. But “much much faster than any other cooking utensil” just doesn’t have the same ring to it, now does it? That said, a turkey that would normally take all day to cook took just over an hour altogether (this includes our prep, pressurizing/warming the instant pot, cook time - which was 30 minutes - and the natural release) and it was cooked perfectly. Our soups usually take about 30 minutes altogether (again, including all the above steps) versus more than an hour on the stovetop.Storage - the size we got and the air fryer lid take up SO MUCH SPACE. It’s not much less than the space it would have taken up with two separate devices, but with the sale price we decided to take the plunge. I get it, it’s not really anything that can be avoided, but perhaps some simple design changes would allow for more efficient storage? Who knows. Unfortunately, with our limited storage space in our house as a whole, this is too much of an inconvenience not to note.Keeping in mind that I purchased this on sale, I have felt that it was worth it. We use it often and it saves quite a bit of time from meal-planning to meal-prepping across the board. We knew we needed the bigger size for a family of four, and the air fryer feature just happened to come with. If I were buying full price, I’d just go with the stand-alone instant pot. We don’t use the air fryer often, but that’s just our family. That may change down the road, but for now, the additional space it takes up is more inconvenience than benefit.

I guess I like kitchen gadgets now...
I was always pretty anti-kitchen gadgets. The InstantPot seemed like just another thing that did stuff I could already do on my stove or oven. Boy, was I wrong.I honestly am in disbelief how much I love using this thing. It is so versatile that I use it more than anything else in my kitchen, except maybe the sink. The reasons why? Well, for starters it’s super easy to clean. Instead of making a mess with multiple pans and pots and lids with food stuff splattering everywhere, the InstantPot is one thing that’s fully contained. When the timer ends I take out the food, clean the pot, and wipe down the lid and little “gutter” and that’s it. Two, it’s so FAST! Now, granted some things will feel like they take the same or similar amount of time when pressure cooking because the machine has to build pressure. BUT, the difference is that I can set this and LEAVE! When it’s ready it beeps and I can choose to keep the food warm or have it stop cooking when the timer is done. What really sold me on finally purchasing this is the air fryer attachment. I’ve been wanting an air fryer so this was much cheaper than buying everything separately. I will say that while I do love the air fryer it’s probably not the best on the market. When using a two-tiered basket, whatever is in the top portion *will* be more cooked than the bottom. This is a problem I will try to fix by simply removing the top portion when it’s cooked and letting the bottom cook longer until it’s done. Not ideal, but for delicious air fried food ans the convenience of having these capabilities from one machine at this price, I’ll make do.I recommend purchasing an InstantPot cookbook to accompany this. It will help acquaint you to how this machine can be used, even if the cookbook is more oriented towards one of the models without the air fryer. What do I use this for? So far I’ve made vegan chana masala (yum!), vegan banana bread (yum!), air fried Brussels sprouts (yum!), truffle fries (you get the idea). I’ve also used this to steam food to make dog food for my pup with allergies. One of my favorite things to use this for is dry goods!! I will dump a whole bag of dry beans or quinoa or whatever in the pot, add spices, water, set it, and it’s done to perfection so quickly! I’ll then can everything and freeze it so I have beans and quinoa on hand all the time whenever I need them for a meal! It’s the best! Not to mention the pressure cooker seems to really INFUSE whatever you’re cooking with the spices you choose. The beans I’ve made with this I’ve eaten plain they were so so tasty!I live with roommates but this has been the best purchase ever. I’m lucky to have the room to store it, but it’s also great because they can cook on the stove or in the oven if they want, and I have everything I need right in this InstantPot so no one has to wait on anyone to clear out before they can do their own thing.Things I wish it did differently:- I wish the display showed seconds. Minor inconvenience but the display in general makes it feel cheap.- I wish the display showed what setting it was on and what action it was currently doing. For example, a small icon for “pressure cooking” so you can remember that you chose the correct setting. Or a little icon that showed it was building pressure so you don’t think you didn’t hit “start” or something before waking away. Also, something that showed the current temperature inside instead of what you set it to so you know how things are cooking or heating up/cooling down.- A persistant beep every minute or so when food is finished cooking.

AKA the soup machine (grandson named it)
It does everything I need, from soups and stews to slow cooker stuff and air fry. I use it to make an amazing broth for collards before I add the greens. It make bone broth out of ham hocks in record time.I make great chicken soup, veg soup, curry goat, beef stew, and more. There was only one weird thing, my dog was terrified of it so I had to put it outside to cook. IDK know if she heard something but it scared her into a panic. No problem, I cooked outside no mess at all. If the pressure is on for over 35-40 minutes and I do not open it, it can sit overnight IF and only IF I don't open it. It kills all germs and even spores. Very nice appliance! I had a cheaper brand with a couple of problems so I switched to this.
