TLDR: Awesome bag, fits 13.5" Microsoft Surface Book 2 (Microsoft's listed dimensions 12.3" x 9.14" x 0.51"-0.90").I've been coveting this bag for at least 2 years, but the listed dimensions for the laptop compartment were too small for anything other than a tablet. So I kept looking but wasn't able to find anything else. Then the price on this dropped, and with free shipping and returns, I had nothing to lose.Great news! This bag fits the 13.5" Microsoft Surface Book 2 (which I am returning, but that's another story) in the laptop compartment. I didn't fully pack it with the laptop in there, but the main compartment seems to have plenty of room for wallet, phone, keys, maybe even lunch (depending on how big your container is), plus laptop stuff like the charger and a mouse. It looks stylish but still professional, and of course the lovely Haiku lining inside so you can see the contents instead of staring into a gaping black hole. One of my favorite things about this bag is that it comes with the long removable shoulder strap instead of only having the drop handles.I haven't traveled with it yet, but I'm sure it'll be great. Haiku is one of my favorite brands, and anytime I need a new bag, I check their offerings first because their bags hold up well over time and keep plastic out of landfills.

Purchased this to use as a carry on bag for a European trip later this year. Had the chance to use it a few weeks ago for a week visiting friends. It was the perfect size for those misc things that you don't want in a suitcase or too large for your purse. I used it for Kindle, iPod and charger, misc chargers in a small zip bag, meds, crochet project and had some room to spare. There is a large pocket that runs along the inside back with a velcro tab that works perfectly for magazines or 8.5 x 11 office paper. You could probably fit a small laptop inside too. Other inside pocket is smaller with a zipper. Two outside pockets that didn't have a chance to use but will on our trip later this year. The long strap comes off, and is long enough to wear cross-body. I am 5'4" and wear bags low, this strap still had room to go when had it where I like. Wasn't sure about the shorter handles as I have never been a fan of this style - but I realized that I can use these to loop over my wheeled luggage in the airport, and they are actually long enough to go over your shoulder too. I Love this brand, the workmanship is top notch, the materials are durable. The purse I have had for years is easy to clean - I just empty it out and wash it on the delicate cycle of my front loading washing machine and air dry.

I LOVE this bag so much that my friend got the same one in maroon because I raved about it so much!UPDATE 10/2019: I still love this bag, but was extremely disappointed when literally TWO months after the one year warranty expired, the zipper broke. The stitching came away from the zipper in a way that I don't think my limited sewing skills can repair, especially since the thread is also puckering in other places along the zipper line. I wrote to their customer service right away, but it's been a couple of weeks and I haven't heard back yet. I can still use this bag for now, but will be increasingly nervous to use it as more of the zipper comes apart.I'm unsure if I'm willing to purchase another of these bags. I love the size and shape and weight and that it's made from recycled materials. But it's pricey enough that it not only would be miserable to have to replace annually, being shoddily manufactured so that it's "disposable" sort of defeats the purpose of the recycled content. I'll have to think hard about it.

I love Haiku bags. I think I can count a dozen I've had over the years, and passed some on to my children.I need large bags to carry a lot of stuff, but I don't want bulky. I can carry the basics: car keys clipped to the tether, wallet, small bag of health/beauty items, my portable charging bank, a tuckable tote, pens, tissues, blistex, nail file, and a bunch of other items in here and they nicely fit without making the bag huge. Then I have plenty of room for my notebook, a bottle of water, and small purchases to avoid using plastic bags. Sometimes I even sneak treats into the movie theater in it, it's that roomy. Shh, don't tell. Best of all, and what makes it an improvement over the Renaissance Carryall Tote I bought and used all last year is that this has a stiff, flat bottom. When I set it down, it stays upright.I chose the Andorra color, which is a muted red-wine color. It's beautiful.

This is my 5th Haiku product. I bought it specifically to be my carryon/ipad bag for a trip to Greece. It is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but I was able to still get a lot in it. I also really liked how many zippered pockets it has. Pick-pocketing is a huge problem where I was traveling (my dad was pick-pocketed as I was looking at him and I didn't see a thing). I felt safer with my valuables in my bag because of all of its zippered compartments.The material is really durable too.At one point I spilled my water bottle in one of the larger side pockets and it kept the water, for the most part in that compartment until I could get to some papertowels.My one complaint is that this bag doesn't come in the fun vibrant colors that a lot of other Haiku bags do.

I usually do not write product reviews but wanted to tell interested buyers this is a great bag. I've owned several Haiku bags in the past, all of them beautiful but usually uncomfortable to carry because the straps are too thin. This bag avoids that problem with the rolled handles and the cross-body strap is soft and doesn't pull. I also love the size of the bag. It's not huge, but has plenty of room for travel and commute. It holds my laptop, electronic accessories, glasses, pens, small purse and notebooks with aplomb. A+

Bought this over 5 months ago and have hand washed it twice inside and out with mild detergent and a brush. I bought the grey one after having purchased the cranberry color three months before. That color has also been washed twice. It’s almost unbelievable how well they hold their shape and absolutely NO loss of color evident in my sink. I travel a lot and like the size. Not TOO large.
