If youre looking for genuine buttons look elsewhere.

These are not arcade style buttons. Note: I haven't even installed them. Just opening up the plastic and playing around with them. First off "real" arcade button are concaved not convexed. however looking at the picture i see they were not hidding that. They are very light weight. The joystick seems like a quality joystick. 5 stars for now. i will be back after i get them installed and tested.

Responsive, great looking, and super easy

I'm a 49 year old who has played on old arcades and wanted to recapture the joy of those games, street fighter 2, mortal Kombat, bubble bobble, and galaga, and building a cabinate has been a dream.I've used the 1up arcade stuff and while it's fine, there's a lot of lag that comes with them, as well as game limitations, unless you're willing to make software modifications, but for the price, why no just build your own? These are compatible with windows and retropie, I'm currently using them with Batocera and it works beautifully! They're very responsive and handle galaga like a dream! They're simple and you can arrange the button in any configuration you want.A thought while putting them together: make sure you plug the buttons in the same order on both player sets. If you do them in a different order the interface will recognize them as the same type of controller and when you map the controller it'll set both the same. So if they're plugged in out of order one set will be perfect while the other will be crazy.

Great for the money

Installed these parts into a new vertical arcade cabinet I made. Installation was a breeze and I dont experience any input lag while connected to the PC I'm using. The left stick often comes looks and has to be tightened. This is an annoyance but not a deal breaker. The light up buttons offer a good effect. Sometimes the player 2 button gets stuck, but it pops back up fairly quickly soon after. I would definitely recommend these buttons to someone building an arcade cabinet or controller on a budget.

Good starter set for 2 players

I have an older tank stick and wanted to upgrade the joysticks and after seeing this kit, I chose this one. This is especially useful for beginners as each button and joystick have discrete points to connect to. Usually there is an attached switch with spade connectors. It is surprising how simple it is. The boards included have discrete connections for each button joystick, and LED light in button. Each set has its own board (for each player). If you are new to retro arcade sets is likely the easiest DIY kit. One of the difficulties for new folks is the wiring. This makes it both easy and nearly impossible to screw up. There is no discrete switch at the bottom of the buttons that you have to remove to secure the button the attach the switch.

My go to arcade machines!

I modify arcade cabinets and have used this brand for years. They work and hold up well. Yes, you can have a defective button in the pack but for the price you are not losing in the deal. I trust the brand and continue to use them without and issues.

Be careful if you're picky about button styles. This is good entry level equipment.

These were purchased for a Arcade Cabinet build. I like that they are for "American style" Control Panels (meaning 28mm in diameter and long enough to work in a 3/4" thick wood panel). This is important if you don't have a router to remove material to fit the buttons. These are also CONVEX - not CONCAVE. I missed that when I ordered them, but they work fine and have medium action (about 75 grams). I won't know about longevity for a while...the wiring is a little short, so you must plan to mount the interfaces close to the joysticks and buttons. A benefit is the wires have fitted plugs, so you can't go wrong wiring these. Since they are 5 volt, they are also compatible with a more capable I/O interface, like the Ultimarc products, but this kit has everything you need to build a pedestal or cabinet control panel or a fightstick for 2 players. The joysticks are 8 way - they say "SANWA" - I wouldn't know if they are really SANWA or not - I tend to prefer IL/Original HAPP style sticks - but the price was right for this kit. I wish they came with some screw in plastic supports to mount the interface boards, but you can't have everything. Good stuff!
