If you are an OLD School Martial Artist. You will love this book. If you are an MMA fighter you will have no idea what this book is about. And it will serve no purpose. Which is Great!

This book has got me rethinking my walk here on earth!! It's chaulkful of useful information that will help me understand the truer meaning behind the martial arts. It complements my belief system system perfectly!!

This particular book gives much information not taught to the general public in martial arts classes. It explains how to train in pressure point striking and focuses on the famed Dim Mak skills. it also has explanations on how to cure much of it however this requires Herbal skills and a lot of knowledge in Chinese Medicine. If you are interested in studying more advanced skills for any martial arts this is a good book but there is a lot of memorization involved with alot of training and acupuncture knowledge required. Great manual over all.

The value of this book is the history of the art and what the art intails. I would not recommed it for learning the art itself, it has limitedvalue in that regard. Also there is some information which is also in the book 72 arts of shaolin, this is not good if you buy both, however for the book it has to be there because it is an important part of the art. I would recommend it for the interesting history and the art itself. If you want to learn something from it i do not recomend this book, you will not learn dim mak from it.

This is good book on acupoints for martial arts.Its worth its weight in gold and should be in the library of any serious martial arts studying Chinese martial arts.

I have read and seen a number of authentic books in China concerning this topic. I was hoping for something like them in this book. At least four components I would hope to see replicated that are in old style texts. 1. Training Methods step by step 2. Medicines required with recipes including amounts of each herb. 3. The basic points with striking points and details of their effects and specific considerations to make the strike work such as time of day, penetration angle etc. 4. The specific cures and reversals for striking the points....without which NO TEACHER SHOULD DISSEMINATE such information.What this book has: A series of paragraphs on methods to strike and train the hands. A fairly comprehensive list of points, with diagrams showing their location (not as much specific anatomy). Some information about times for striking and the various channels and basic theory behind their interaction (very basic).What the book doesn't have. ZERO INFORMATION about medicines such as Dit Da formulas. NO FORMULAS OR RECIPES. The book actually mentions in places the need for such formulas, but neglects to offer any recipes or guidance formula at all. There are no internal Dit Da formulas either or specific medicines for correcting injury. There are NO reversals of injury mentioned, even though this is an integral part of learning and arguably the MOST IMPORTANT part of safely learning such an art.In summary: This is a mediocre book compared with several I have read. It was not worth the money I paid for it for myself. It would be informative and entertaining for a complete layman to martial arts and might be entertaining to a training martial artist. But as most English published books it leaves out critical components that could have been included by a master that was either more forthcoming, or a more knowledgeable teacher. Therefore, if you're looking for a more complete manual or supplement to your training I would keep looking. This is NOT the SECRETS REVEALED book.
