SICK BEARDED DRAGON.

if your bearded dragon is super sick and will not eat and is unresponsive this can help him get meat on his bones... my guy has gotten noticeably bigger after 2 weeks... i always feed him at the front of his mouth because if you do it further back he could aspirate... usually i can either gently peel his gum back but lately he has gotten enough strength to simply open his mouth when it is gently brushed by the syringe...he doesn't enjoy it but it is helping a lot. the vet told me to keep this up for 4 weeks. i would talk to your exotic vet about this and if it is appropriate to use beyond a week tho

Highly recommend if your adult bearded dragon doesn’t want to eat

My bearded dragon stopped wanting to eat anything else after I mistakenly fed her live crickets after over 3 years old. After that she’d hardly eat anything and was starting to get concerned and did some research and found out about this stuff. It seems to be working and know at least she’s getting most of her vitamins and nutrients from this and I also mix a little calcium powder in with it.The only cons is it’s kind of expensive for how little you get and the directions are a bit confusing. I’ll make it easier for you if you’re having trouble with it and mix 6mls of distilled water to 15 scoops of the mix with the tiny portion spoon. It’s kind of hard to mix in the little cup they give with it and I use a toothpick with the sharp end cut off to mix it really well. If your bearded dragon doesn’t want to open their mouth then put the syringe in the side of their mouth and might have to push a little to get them to open and quickly move it to the front and squeeze like 1ml at a time. Too much and can get in that hole under their tongue and they can aspirate and stress them out. I also got a handful of the bigger 10ml syringes from CVS cuz if they bite down on the tip they will bite it right off lol. I didn’t realize how sharp their tiny teeth are until I started using this. The one that came with it got chewed and broke the first time and had to throw it away. Now it can take a few minutes to feed it all to them but just be patient and squirt a little at a time. I also got some liquid vitamins to help since she won’t eat her vegetables or fruits hardly anymore. I also recommend not to start feeding your beardie live crickets unless you start when they’re a juvenile with the rest of their diet. She used to love the canned crickets and grasshoppers and won’t touch them anymore. She will still eat dead Dubai touches when I get them but now I’m stuck having to drive 25 mins each way 1-2 times a week to get live crickets. They’re expensive and only buy 3 dozen at a time cuz a dozen will die within 3 days and I put cricket food and the water cubes in there with them to drink and eat.Anyways I got off of the original topic quite a bit but I do highly recommend this stuff if your beardie isn’t wanting to eat or loosing weight.

Saved our leopard gecko 🦎

Our 5 year old leopard gecko Nova was on a very slow decline after our house fire 10 months ago. He stopped using his humid hide and before I knew it I was forcing soaks/steams to help with his stuck sheds. He stopped eating as ravenously and started refusing to drink water even when offered to his face. He dropped so much weight and looked like the crypt keeper. I was at a loss, our beardie Freyja who suffered burns, lost several fingers and the tip of her tail- is now doing great, yet my leopard who was mostly protected was now doing worse. Nova lseemed to lose his will to survive.I remembered reptiboost when I was caring for our old beardie who passed in 2020, it helped her gain back some appetite and she gained some weight before we eventually lost her. I bought some again for Nova. I made up a slurry (did notice hard black flecks others mentioned, just avoided with drawing up slurry in syringe) and offered it to his face. He hates it but I just kept making him lick it off his lips. The first night I was able to get him to have .2cc! I actually cried because previously he would just not even try to lick water or mashed bugs off his lips before (yes- I mashed up bugs for him in my desperation).I was able to get him to have another .2cc the next night and then following days he consumed more and more until he finally started drinking from his water dish and started using his humid hide more!Now- our firecracker is back!! I used this for about 2 weeks, offering it to him 4-6 days a week with doses up to .7cc consumed. He finally looked BAR (bright, alert, responsive) so I offered him his live buggos and he ate!!! 😭♥️ It took a lot of effort to get to this point and some fine tuning in my husbandry- but Reptiboost made the biggest difference and now hopefully my boy can go on to living his best life and getting his fat tail back. 🥹————-For anyone who is curious about other changes I made:- changed water dish to a much flatter one. It’s a mini bottle bubbler with food/water compartments. I also picked bright blue to hopefully draw more attention than the boring black/brown one I had.- new humid cave/hide with ceramic humidity dishes on top. I previously used a small plastic tub with a damp towel inside. I think it got too cold for him. It always worked before but I wanted to upgrade in case this was the issue. I spray the inside of the new cave with water every night to increase humidity. I think the ceramic dishes might make a difference? It’s hard to tell but I don’t have to refill it often, which tells me it’s not actually evaporating the water fast enough, hence the extra spraying. He loves his new hide though.- added overhead heating and a ramp. I have a heat mat with temperature control, so I know a good 1/4-1/3 of his 40 gallon tank was warm but I wanted to give him an extra boost. He already has a full spectrum light that’s on for maybe 6 hrs a day, but he doesn’t like how bright it is so I noticed him avoiding it when the light would come on. Despite this, I still added a nano dome with a 25W bulb- warm spot only read 83F, so I swapped for a 40W bulb and added a ramp. It now reads 91F in the warmed spot- perfect! I don’t ever see him bask directly underneath it but I think it adds to a warmer ambient temp.Did any of these make a difference? I’m sure they did, even though my previous set up worked great for over 4 years- I wanted to rule out any possible issues. I can say for certain that the reptiboost made the biggest difference. Don’t hesitate to give this a try. Even if your reptile hates it, if you can manage to get them to eat a little bit at a time- it’ll work!
