Works well
Works great so far, quality is a definite step up from the usual imports. Has an actual company behind it that supports their product.

Does a great job
I had only used die crimpers before this, and I remember how it can be difficult to know which settings to use to get a good solid crimp. This is the ideal solution. I crimped 1/0 lugs, it did a great job, being hydraulic means it’s easy to pump with one hand, and the handle is spring loaded. It’s heavy made, hopefully will last a long time. It will pay for itself after doing a few jobs over what it would cost to hire it done. Highly recommended!

Seems to be very ruggedly built
Purchased this tool to complete a project dealing with moving and adding battery banks and charging systems on a boat. So far I have crimped a number of terminals on 1/0 wire and have been very happy with the results. The tool is quite heavy so I use the screw adjustment to secure the terminal against the punch, insert the wire end into the terminal while the head of the tool is resting on the work bench leaving one hand to hold the wire in place and the other hand to pump the handle without having to support the entire weight of the tool while crimping the terminal. I find that the number of handle pumps it takes to complete the crimp is nearly twice what the instructions indicate. That said, it may be that the wire terminals do not need to be compressed that much but it does not feel like the tool is meeting any resistance until I am well past the indicated number of handde pumps. Upon close inspection I don’t see any damage to the terminal nor the wire end. I had been using a crimping took that put a small indent in the terminal using a hammer. While this method may be adequate in most cases, this hydraulic crimping tool eliminates any doubt as to the integrity of the crimp. The single weakness of this tool could be the hydraulic mechanism. So far so good and I find that that I do not have to exert much handle pressure to make a satisfactory terminal crimp nor will this tool be used for day to day commercial use so I won’t be able to determine how robust the hydraulic pump really is. For my purposes involving light / occasional use, I can recommend this tool.May 9, 2023 update:I have used this crimping tool for numerous crimps on 1/0 cable terminals over the past month and it has done an excellent job with no problems. It is extremely easy to use. Pumping the handle until feeling some resistance (more pumps than instructions indicate) provides professional, secure crimps that will no doubt remain permanently secure. An high quality tool for crimping large cable terminals.

this things feels rugged and is making my coworkers jealous (maniacal laugh)
overall this tool is exceeding all me expectations. it is very sturdy and heavy. i am not sure what the different dies are for. one has a plus sign and one has a minus sign. i would be very surprised if they are to indicate polarity of a circuit lol. i see that the puncher die is much broader of a tip than my bigger lopper style lug crimpers and i am not sure how i feel about that. the lugs do feel solidly attatched to the strands of the marine battery cable. i ended up tracing over the graduations from the lopper style crimpers that i have to have some consistency. i intend to set the height of the screw and max out the throw of the crimper so that there is no variation depending on the person or how strong i feel. just adjust the top and pump until it stops. it is reasonable easy to pump all the way. i tested on 1/0 cable. i am thinking of selling my bigger no hydraulic crimpers after the first use with these. the throw of the handle is what made me want to buy the hydraulic ones and i know some are more handle throw than others and this is exactly what i need for crimping in confined spaces. what you see in the picture is the max extent the handle needs to go. some others on amazon go much further even though they are hydraulic. i plan to crimp two lugs on the end of my resistive start battery cca tester and measure the heat generated from the lug crimp using two different crimpers to compare. i bought these because they are infinitely adjustable unlike the die sort which i wouldn't feel comfortable with given that some lugs are more heavy duty than others and the outer wall would be bigger on the heavier duty ones making the crimps not to the same degree depending on what lug you use. also some dies are designed for metric cabling and labled as awg which i just don't want to wonder about that so i am happy with my purchase.

REALLY NICE CRIMPER
I FABRICATE OF LOT OF WIRING AND BATTERY CABLES. THIS LOOKS TO BE HIGH QUALITY AND WELL SUPPORTED BY A COMPANY WITH A LONG HISTORY OF QUALITY PRODUCTS. IF YOU THINK THIS IS HEAVY, GO TO THE GYM. -- Edit: Why did I not purchase this a couple of decades ago? This thing is AWESOME.

Best Crimper I've Ever Used
I've only used die crimpers in the past. I am offgrid and needed to crimp connectors on large wire. After a lot of research and looking at some 2/0 cables I have terminated by APC for use with industrial scale UPS units I decommissioned I decided this crimper. With a die crimper I never feel like I'm getting a good crimp. I always end up with these wings and it just doesn't feel like the connector and the wire has become one. With this crimper I truly feel like every connection is perfect because I can feel the pressure as I pump.My issue with the die crimpers is that all these sellers lie. They sell metric connectors as AWG size. They sell metric size wire as AWG wire. Most of these are truly close in size however the dies are unforgiving. With this crimper I know I can crimp anything onto anything. Thick-walled heavy-duty battery terminals?? Not an issue... Fake 4AWG wire into real 4AWG connectors.... NO PROBLEM just add a few more pumps. This is a real world tool... Something that just gets the job done.I crimped 1/0 AWG and 2/0 AWG lugs like nothing with this. Great tool.
