Butterflies 🦋
This journey has been so fun to watch and explore, my kids absolutely enjoyed every second of watching the life cycle of a caterpillar. 🐛We have 3 butterflies currently (As I'm writing this another one hatched so now we have 4.) but we are hoping for all of them to have made it. We did lose the log you were suppose to set the chrysalis' in so l hand made a solution to that 😂 I cut open a hefty cup and put tape around the opening so it's a smooth edge and the butterflies won't hurt their wings, Then I placed the paper the chrysalis' are attached to on top and taped the paper onto the cup. The final step was putting something heavy on the bottom of the cup so it wouldn't tip over when the butterflies come out. So I placed a rock that my son had and a shell that we found at the beach in them. And now we shall wait for more to hatch We will wait for their wings to dry and to make sure they are eating before releasing them into the wild for them to live happily ever after! Thank you for everyone that has been keeping up with our butterfly journey! We will keep updating as time goes on! Also we had a caterpillar that was significantly smaller than the rest when we first got them. He’s still alive but growing a lot slower than the rest. He’s still in the cup with food and I’m going to try everything I can to help him get to become a butterfly 🦋

Highly Recommend!!
First time buying caterpillars and we have really enjoyed watching them change. They sent us 7, one unfortunately didn’t make it.I bought them as a homeschool learning activity and my kids have learned a lot so far.We are super excited for them to turn into butterflies and release them into to our gardenThe price is a pretty good deal, they do take awhile to arrive, but 100% worth the wait! This is definitely going to be our yearly educational project every spring/summer.

10000000/10
Wow. What an amazing experience with my children. These sweet little caterpillars were perfect! We ordered 10 but got extra and they all made chrysalises! Every single one survived their metamorphosis journey and became a beautiful butterfly! We put strawberries and flowers in the butterfly habitat for a few days to observe them. Then came release day and oh my! So magical! They crawled all over our hands and hung out with us for a while before flying away. I can’t wait to order more and do it again. I highly recommend these caterpillars!

Tiny Miracles in a Cup, So Fun to Watch
Got these caterpillars to use as part of our homeschool. We have been studying flying creatures this year. These were so fun! They came quickly and we had 7 living tiny caterpillars in a tiny cup of food. You don't have to do anything else until they become chrysalises. We loved watching them grow and grow and grow, and it happens so quickly. In a few weeks we had giant caterpillars compared to the start. Once they all formed the chrysalis we were able to pin the paper to our enclosure so they could hang. All 7 came out as butterflies a few weeks later and we released into the wild.I highly recommend this experience and can't wait to do it again next year. It is such a fun process to watch the transformation!

Great quality caterpillars!
I ordered these caterpillars for my kindergarten class after the first batch I ordered from a different company came almost full grown. The caterpillars from Clearwater were such better quality! They were tiny when they arrived so the children got to enjoy watching them grow. There must have been more than 10 caterpillars included because a total of 10 butterflies successfully emerged even after 2 or 3 caterpillars didn't make it. I will definitely order again from this company next year!

Great Science Unit for Kindergarten
I have used Clearwater for the last 4 years for caterpillars for my Kindergarten classroom. Each year I have bought 2 so that we have lots of butterflies to release. The kids love watching them turn into their chrysalis and then emerge as beautiful butterflies. Great science unit for the kids and we have a big release party. Thanks for helping me build lasting memories with my littles!

Honest review
Ordered 2 containers of 5. One was fine, the other food/sand was broken up and unfortunately squished 3 of them which was upsetting for child they were bought for 😬. They are growing so fast as soon in the photos, they look to double on size each day. We bought the kit (home) separately, so we are waiting for the next stage to then transport them to the kit home ( pin them ). I will add another photo with updates.*Be mindful of the time of year you get them based on Season/Weather. If it's going to be under 60° you can't let them free. We are Upper East coast so these are a late spring/ Summer experience.Update: This was such a beautiful experience, we had to wait a bit for the weather to warm up but we sent almost all of them free. A few had beat up wings and I could see they weren't going to travel well. They did however leave us to raise the next generation. Added a new photo... we have eggs and I dont know exactly when to do. When getting the caterpillars they were give a container of food to live in. Any suggestions? Can we order food from you guys?

Great experience
This turned out to be a great experience for our kids to see the caterpillars' transformation into beautiful butterflies. I have to say I was a bit dismayed when we first receive the kit. It came in a small box that must have gotten crushed in transportation. The cardboard box was half open and distorted .The plastic cup inside was also crushed to the point where it was impossible to put the lid on without it popping out. The paper on top of the cup was also torn. I ended up replacing the paper with a coffee filter and rubber banding the lid to the cup. Despite the ordeal from the bad transportation/packaging, our caterpillars survived and all six of them formed chrysalises. Even though one of the butterflies died inside its chrysalis, the other five came out beautifully. Overall pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
