Q: Can a dog "back out" of this harness. my 90 lb. great pyr has backed out of every no pull harness i have purchased as the straps loosen.

You need a harness with 2 areas of tightening under the belly so it has 3 loops or one made of heavier, broader material that has more fit adjustment (5 point adjustment) like most tactical harnesses. It makes it harder for the dogs to slip their shoulders out compared to the simpler 2 loops with only 2 areas to adjust of typical sport and urban dog harnesses. Scenereal, Mihachi, Rabbitgoo, and Tuff pupper have escape proof harnesses with the 3 loops system. Ruffwear has a webmaster that is more interconnected instead of 2 mostly separate chest and belly loops but same concept. OneTigris, IceFang, and Auroth tactical harnesses are often included in lists of difficult to escape harnesses. Rabbitgoo also makes a tactical harness. The problem with the tactical harnesses is getting one that fits a big and especially large shoulder or broad chested dog properly given their more detailed fit. I had issues finding one with straps that went over my 90-100lb male akita's shoulders even when the company provided extra areas to measure for proper fit. I can just barely adjust the largest tactical harness of that brand to sit properly on him. Some companies don't list enough info on amazon to measure well enough for such dogs. The extra loop versions are potentially less durable to chewing or breaking clips depending on brand and possibly more difficult to put on depending on exact design but easier to get a proper fit on a large dog or one with a less common body shape.

Q: How thick is this jacket? Does it make the dog over heat? I have a small black pug and want to make sure this wont make him to hot.

The jacket has some cushion for comfort, but I wouldn't say it's thick enough to overheat a dog.

Q: Will this harness fit an English bulldog? They are broad through the shoulders.

I believe a medium would fit fine. We’ve always found Bulldogs tougher than the average bread, so it’s best to check our sizing chart to be accurate
