Q: What is the return policy on this item ?

Not too good, been waiting on a replacement pair for a couple of months now and still haven't received them or no communication other than first email.

Q: What's the % of light that goes thru the lens

been trying it at dusk, not a swarovski but good enough, with low light can identify owls easly

Q: I am wondering how well these will work in extreme cold temperatures, below 20 degrees F?

Probably work better than you will- seriously, it doesn't get that cold very often in Austin (it has in the last month). These binoculars seem pretty similar to my old Nikon 10x42's that quit focusing after I left them out in the sun a couple of months ago. I've been outside some recently when its pretty cold, no problems. The Nikon description said the Nikons were waterproof, these don't say. But visually they seem to be about the same at 1/3 the price.

Q: Are these fairly lightweight? I’m looking for a pair to take traveling via airplane etc and don’t want to be weighed down

Shipping weight (including box) is 2 pounds. This would make them lighter than traveling with your iPad/tablet. Just purchased these so I can travel with these on safari later this year

Great value for the price

Firstly - thanks to Amazon ME team as the package was delivered under 24 hours. Excellent delivery time.As for the binoculars it’s really good. Took me quite some time to choose the one for me for my use for a occasional hiking, bird spotting etc with family. Nothing too extreme. So far it’s perfect for my needs plus the price is excellent for what you are getting.At first look it’s robust and looks very well made.
