Real Person Real Review

I purchased this exact same battery back in 2020 for CyberPower 1000AVR UPS backup. So it lasted between 3.5 and 4 years. I have two of these UPSs. I like that they are OEM replacement for CyberPower and have 18month warranty. Others have like only 3 month warranty, so be aware. I have a 3rd UPS like this but had to upgrade due to larger wattage requirements. These are solid UPSs and just need the battery replaced every now and then. So I'm purchasing 2 new replacement batteries.

A great value - other brands are 2x as much.

Install took 3-4 minutes. Not the longest powering UPS but gets the job done - especially to prevent momentary outages like we get during bad weather.

You may not get 100% battery life

Photos i included:The battery that says CyberPower, that's the replacement battery i received from Amazon. The other battery is the original battery that was in my UPS. (The UPS was bought brand new)Thought i would mention this as it's odd that the original battery doesn't say CyberPower but the replacement battery does. The 3rd photo is the UPS with the battery cover removed. There's two cables that need to be unplugged to remove the battery. And reconnected to the new battery when installing the new battery.____________________________I own the CyberPower 1000PFCLCD, UPS.I think there's more than 1 version of this UPS model.I think this is the newer (last version) of it, because mine doesn't look like this:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00429N192Mine has no USB, no tilting LCD screen. But the replacement battery works just fine.____________________________FIRST THING TO KNOW ABOUT THIS UPS:You know when the battery is dying because having a dying battery causes the UPS to randomly beep, display an error message on the LCD screen then randomly turn off and cut off power to your devices that are plugged in.And this specific UPS model was at the point that it would only stay on for 3-5 min before it cuts off. NOT GOOD because my PC was plugged into it.I'd turn the UPS back on, turn my PC back on. Few minutes later, the UPS would cut off power again.I contacted CyberPower and they told me to replace the battery. So i'm not 100% sure but i think this UPS can't be used without a battery. I think if you removed the battery it may not turn on at all or if it does turn on it'll randomly cause an error then shut off and turn all your devices off.So YOU NEED to replace the battery if you want to use the UPS.____________________________REPLACEMENT BATTERY:GOOD NEWS! This battery works!I replaced the battery with this new battery. I charged it 100% (according to the LCD screen on the UPS)So far the UPS is staying on, no errors (Both while plugged into the wall outlet and when unplugged).BUT i will NOTE, i am testing it without any devices plugged in. So far it seems fine though.____________________________NEW PROBLEM. Maybe, Maybe not:How long does this UPS run with no devices plugged in? I'm not sure.Is it 140 minutes? OR is it 200 minutes?I am testing the UPS with new battery replacement, charged to 100%, WITH NO DEVICES PLUGGED IN.With the UPS plugged in, the LCD screen said i had 200 minutes of battery life.I tested removing the UPS plug from the AC outlet to see how long the battery would last AND to test if it even works. Then i noticed the LCD screen started to countdown from 200 minutes.Every 1-3 seconds i would lose 1 minute of battery life.It was when it hit 140 Min left that the battery life % stabilized. And at 140 Min, it took longer than 1 minute before the battery went down to 139 Min, etc.Sooooo, if the battery is supposed to last 140 Min with no devices plugged in. I think the replacement battery works perfect (so far).If it's 200 Min with no devices plugged in, then there may be an issue with battery life.I think it may actually be 140min but then why would it tell me 200min? Not sure.Due to there being different versions of this UPS model, that makes it even more confusing to find the answer. But so far, after 140 Min, the battery seems very stable.____________________________WARNING, BE CAREFUL when changing the battery:First, in order to change the battery (for the model that i own), put the UPS on it's side. There's 1 screw on the bottom of the UPS. Unscrew it, slide over the plastic cover, remove the cover.NOW you have access to the battery. There's a pull tab attached to the battery to help you pull the battery out.BUT the battery is connected to two terminals, positive and negative (red and black)... (almost like a car battery), you will need to unplug it to remove the battery. So slide the battery out as far as you can, then detach the cables. The danger here is, the replacement battery has no plastic cover to protect one of the terminals. So both metal terminals are exposed.I'm not an electrical expert but i do know it's dangerous if you were to touch both the terminals with metal at the same time.I believe that's what you'd call a short circuit. That's VERY bad. What would happen if you short circuit the battery? Most likely some smoke, fire and a potential BOOM!So avoid that at all cost. The original battery has a plastic cover on the red terminal to help prevent that accident. The replacement battery does not include that.BUT DON'T FEAR, it's easy to replace the battery.BUT again, be careful, After i plugged in the red terminal to the new battery and then i tried to plug in the black connector next, a big spark flew. That was scary.Use plyers, grab onto the rubber piece of the connector and connect it that way. For safety.ALSO be careful when putting the replacement battery in. I almost pinched the red cable when sliding the new battery in with the cables connected. So go slow, make sure you clear the cables, so you don't pinch the cable.____________________________IN CONCLUSION:The $40 is worth the replacement battery considering this UPS would cost around $130 brand new.But i'm still not sure if the full battery life should be 140min or 200min (with nothing plugged in)If it's 140min then i 100% recommend this battery. It works perfect. (So far)If it's supposed to be 200min, you might be getting short changed.Either way, it's still a good purchase. It works, only cost $40 PLUS this is the only replacement option available.

Genuine battery is factory fresh and got me back up and running!

After all the spotty reviews I was a bit hesitant to order this battery from Amazon, but decided to anyway and hoped for the best.I was pleasantly surprised that what I received seemed to be pretty recently manufactured in that the measured voltage right out of the box was ~12.8V.I'm not really sure how to read the date code (if there is any on the battery), but if I am reading it correctly, it seems to suggest that it was manufactured around 09/2023 and my purchase date is 04/2024, so roughly half a year, which is not bad at all.For those who are curious like me, the actual brand of the battery is a "Ritar" brand, and made in Vietnam. From a quick google search it seems to be a well known and trusted brand.Install is straight forward and seems to have gotten my old CyberPower UPS back up and running.

Brought My UPS Back to Life

Not much else to say about it, it's a battery. I bought two separately because it was cheaper than buying the double set, but it's the same battery as the RB1290X2, just "X1"

Easy installation and perfect fit

Was able to find directions for replacing the battery in our UPS which no longer held its charge. By purchasing this item, saved about 40% relative to replacing the whole UPS. Online instructions exist for many UPS systems and this one slipped in with just a quick couple of screws. Operates perfectly and continues to hold a charge.
