Just lovely
I use it to moisturize my face when really dry. Feels light and absorbs nicely, not to mention smells great. It’s my go to perfume that lasts, and I even run a little through my hair which tends to dry out quickly. As with all essential oils, I recommend a little goes a long way towards testing if you may be sensitive to it or the carrier oil, especially when using on your face.

Hmmm, billow of lavender!
For consistency reason, like wines, companies may mix different lavender oils to “standardize” the aroma for each bath. After all, all natural products vary due to weather, rainfall, geographic locations, etc. That is why at times we see companies offer 40/42 blend( 40% to 42% of the aromatic chemical compound linalyl acetate), which is the stable for perfumery industry. The most popular species is angustifolia/officinalis, or commonly call “English lavender” or “true lavender”, due to its distinctive soft, floral scent. To clarify, these common names can be misleading, since this species is not native to England, and all other lavender species are not “fake”.Companies may blend angustifloia oil with those from other species such as latifolia (spike lavender), intermedia (hybrid lavender or lavandin), etc. Each company has its own recipe. Therefore, at times, some oils may smell more flora, comphorous, or woody. In general, the floral scent is preferred by most, and thus demands higher price. Please remember that the floral scent from natural lavender oil is soft. Therefore, some people think certain oils are “watered down”, because their aromas are not strong enough or don’t last long enough. Since most of us don’t have analysis equipments to analyze the purity or oil blend, we can only judge from our nose and experience, which can be subjective. Please also remember that light exposure, temperature, and age affect greatly on the aroma. If the oil is exposed to sunlight or high heat, it deteriorates faster, and thus may have a rancid or sour odor. In addition, the fresher the oil, the better the aroma (except certain oils such as sandalwood, myrrh, patchouli, etc.) Therefore, it is better to purchase oils from reputable vendors. With that said, my lavender oil by Aura Cacia is very floral. From top, middle, through base note, the floral scent is obvious, though gradually transitions into woody scent. I have directly applied it on my face and don't seem to have any allergic reaction so far. It is always safer to dilute it with a carrier oil, or dab a little on a small surface. My opinion speaks for my experience, and is for reference and entertainment purposes only.

Very nice scent but….
The scent fades too soon. I put it on and literally within about ten minutes it’s already mostly gone. Which is sad because it’s a LOVELY blend of sandalwood.

They changed the formula; zero stars
They changed the formula and not for the better. If I could give this product 0 stars, I would.I love lavender essential oil from aura cacia. I use it in lotions, air defusers and planned to use this bottle in body butter but the formula has changed. The picture on the left is the old formula and the one on the right is the new formula. The new one smells really Herby instead of the gentle calming smell of its predecessor. Would not recommend buying this.
