RaymarineSeatalk1 To Sea Talk-Ng Converter

This was the solution for my “no fix” issue. I started by replacing the battery, but it didn’t work. After doing additional research I discovered it was the “GPS roll over” issue. I ordered this and installed it. There are excellent directions online for wiring. Works like a champ now.

This unit connected My Axiom Pro 9 SeaTalk-ng to the existing SeaTalk-2 which had Speed, wind, depth ST60 Tridata, ST60 Wind and ST6001 Autopilot. Added the Layers in the Axiom Pro 9 to show Speed, Depth, Wind. That said I haven't been able to make the MFD communicate with the Autopilot yet.

I didn't want to replace my entire system so I used this converter to send the old SeaTalk1 data to a NEMA 2000 Network and then out to router to share via WiFi. Used this kit to connect 2004 Seatalk 1 wind and depth to new 2021 SeatalkNG P 70 autopilot control head. Works seamlessly. Used existing Seatalk1 power to power new SeatalkNG wheel pilot. Entire system worked perfect out of the box and P 70 control head can steer to wind direction with old ST 60 wind instrument.

Installation was rather straight forward, and I was surprised how well this worked. I was able to connect all of my legacy devices, Autopilot (ST6001+), ST60 series wind instruments, and TriData into my new Axiom 7 display. Now I am able to follow the track on the GPS with the autopilot, and am getting all the wind and TriData into my Axiom 7 Dashboard.

I bought the connector without the yellow plug DID NOT WORK however this one with the the yellow plug IT WORKS !!!!!

I like it until they change the whole system... They could make it more friendly and compatible, but that is not in their business model. It is easy to make connections as long as you have up to date, that means current equipment.

It works. My old and new electronics talk to each other, within their capabilities.

I have five Raymarine devices (Wind, Depth, Speed, Autopilot and VHF) that are 20+ years old that can only be connected to a New Raymarine MFD through the ST1 to STng converter. To replace them with new devices would cost thousands. This converter allows my old Seatalk 1 devices which still work perfectly to "talk" to the new Seatalkng GPS.

Was Raymarine mit seinen Kunden veranstaltet grenzt an Betrug.Schön in den MFDs Software Updates vorschlagen, und wenn ein Gerät danach nicht mehr funktioniert ist man selbst schuld.Wenn diese Firma nicht fähig ist diese Updates vorher zu testen, sollten diese auch nicht angeboten werden.Bleibe nun auf dem defekten Teil sitzen.Nie wieder Raymarine!
