Almost everything you need to get started, or as a backup.
I was traveling and needed a soldering iron, but mine were all back home. This was cheap and complete. The only thing that would make it even more complete would be a bit of rosin. The iron heats up quickly, and the kit has everything you need to get some soldering done. The numbering on the temperature dial is microscopic to the point that it's tough for my aging eyes to tell which direction is hotter, let alone what the actual temperature was supposed to be.It's still working fine after a number of uses. Everything being in a single case makes it convenient enough that I've grabbed this instead of my normal desk station a few times since purchase. I don't think I'd depend on this if I was a professional running it hours every day, but for home use it's working just fine.

Best Bang for your buck
After using for 4 years the thing finally broke. The screw on clamp for the tip wore out so it won't hold a tip anymore. But after the use and abuse I put it through I'm surprised that it lasted this long. I've used more expensive irons over the 4 years and this one can compete pretty well with them. would recommend for those looking for a cheap option for soldering components.

When I used this soldering iron, I realized what a piece of crap my old soldering iron was...
I'd had my old one for probably 15 years, bought off the wall of a hardware store for something I was working on at the time that is since forgotten. I believe it was 30 watts, and while well-constructed, it seemed to take forever to heat anything up and soldering was difficult, making me think it was me doing something wrong or not doing what I should be doing to make things work. This new soldering iron is like night and day as far as how it heats and works. It made a recent small soldering project so much quicker and easier, I kicked myself (not literally) for not getting one a long time ago.The reason for the four stars is because of the temperature control. It works, because I did my soldering on a lower temperature, which worked great, and then as a test I cranked the temp control up to full power. In a couple minutes the whole end of the iron, not just the soldering tip, was starting to glow red, so the control definitely works. I don't know if the numerical temp values are accurate as to the actual temperature of the soldering tip, but it's easy enough to tell the green numbers from the red, so you know when you're heading into 'super hot' territory. The problem is that it just feels a little cheap to me, like the control may be the first thing to fail. Also, the print on the sticker affixed to the control knob is so tiny I can't read it with my fifty-plus-year-old eyes. The stand, tips, and all the included accessories, including the solder (which I used for my soldering project), all seem to be of good, functional quality.Overall this product is a great value for the money, given all you get with the iron. For the person who only solders a few times a year like me, it will probably last you a long time. If you solder eight hours a day, you'll probably want something better, but for my purposes this will do just fine and will probably (hopefully) last the rest of my life. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Worked well for quite some time, then the cheapness crept in.
I bought this years ago now and have completed many projects will little issue, but it seems to have self destructed. My hypothesis as to its' demise:The ceramic element had flaky black carbon which has led to poor heating, poor heating leads to rapid solder oxidation and the cheap tips can not cope. My last project required more watts than I typically use, 12 awg wire + xt60, which is EASILY within the scope of a 60w iron.Swapped out to a chisel tip, tinned up just fine and then it all went ugly. First joints were OK, then no matter what I did I couldn't keep the tip clean for more than 2 joints without going into full cleaning routine. Cooled it off thinking it was a bad tip, second tip followed the same pattern. Cooled it off again and inspected it more closely, found the oxidation. Tried lowering the temp (it's not thermostatically controlled, that dial only increases wattage)It could be bad tips, it could be the heating element, it could be I've forgotten how to solder and care for my iron. Either way, she is dead to me now.Overall it really isn't a "good" iron, never was, but it was good enough and great for the money. Served me well for 4+ years of occasional use including smt, hobby and household uses.Advice: The iron is ok, the tweezers are decent, the sucker is OK (prefer wick), the stripper is crap, included solder is lead free and therefore harder to work with, the stand is not terribly stable, the sponge is a sponge, the tips absolutely REQUIRE you to maintain them and the case is nice enough. Add in the price of good flux core solder SRA 63/47 or similar, some paste flux or flux pen, helping hands thingy and you'll have a nice setup for the price. Warning: thin plastic threads are weaker than you are, use care.
