Great game, disappointing component quality
Viral is a very fun and unique area control game. You control viruses that spread around "Bob's" organs trying to take control of the different systems. Your turn consists on playing cards that let you do different actions such as infecting an organ, moving from one organ to another, etc. The game also uses event cards that may alter the scoring conditions of each round. These definitely helps to add variety to every game. The artwork is very cartoony and reminds me of Monsters Inc. from Disney. Definiteley makes for a more fun game.Unfortunately this game has some disappointing component quality. Is the only reason Im giving it 4 stars. Most specifically on the board itself. The board I received had air bubbles, scratches and splotches of what seems to be glue. Is like they package the game without letting the glue and ink dry. These type of problems seems to be common. A friend's copy had similar issues and some unboxing videos on youtube have reported issues with the components.

Fun game, easy to understand once you get going.
Very fun game, although if you fall behind it can be impossible to catch up. The concept is fun, it can take a little while to figure out how it works, but once you get going, it all makes sense. Cute, fun for any age, nice little party game.

Silly Theme/Art; Solid Area Control Game
Viral, despite the art work, is actually a solid, somewhat mean, area control with an excellent theme! It even has a very clever mechanic-that maybe unique for an area control game-where if you (as the viruses) get too successful in infecting one or more organs in the body of the poor patient, the body flushes out all the viruses in that particular organ, or organs! This means that the players doing the best have to be prepared to RESART FROM SCRATCH. That is very unusual for an area control, and may annoy some players. For me, for me it makes for a whole new layer of strategy and planning. As you have to judge scoring opportunities with getting wiped out. Timing is everything! It's really interesting.

It's a fun, streamlined area control game you can play in 60-90 minutes. The rules are clear and all the steps of play are right on the side of board. Many parts of the game are randomized each game, keeping it fresh. There's plenty of strategy to be had and I love the theme of viruses bouncing around the different organ systems.

Not easy, but has printed directions on game board.
Not for beginners, but easy once you have played it a few times.

Love the artwork
Love the artwork. If you play with younger (reading) children, as long as long as you have them play alongside you for the first couple of plays, they can grasp it quickly and this can serve a wider and younger audience. Very fun.

Lets infect "Bob"
Great component quality and fun mechanics. This area control game has some aspects that makes it feel fresh. The way you handle your action cards and the fact that you shouldn't become to dominant or you'll regret it, make it a great experience for my gaming group.
