I'm extremely pleased with this cat flap! While my door was a bit too heavy for a DIY installation (my carpenter handled it perfectly), the end result is a robust and highly functional addition to our home.The learning curve for my cats was a bit longer than expected, taking about 3-5 weeks for them to fully master it. A tip for new users: keeping the flap's lid open initially with some masking tape really helped them get comfortable with the opening.One of my biggest concerns was drafts, especially during the colder months, but I'm happy to report that absolutely no cold air penetrates through the flap – it's remarkably weatherproof. This alone makes it money well spent.Finally, the size is fantastic. It comfortably accommodates larger cats (excluding tigers, of course!). Overall, a brilliant product that I highly recommend.

Had this for about 6 months now and still works great! Our one also says 'Closer Pets' not 'Cat Mate' on the actual product which we like as we use it for dogs.We put this on the door to the garden Summer House so our Yorkshire Terrier and Mini Dachshund can go in and out freely. Works as intended.Took a few days of encouragement for the yorkie but now both use it multiple times a day every day. It seems to be just the right height for both to use without straining up/down and both have been known to sprint out if they hear something of interest outside. So, I would say it's hardy enough for our uses.Only complaint really is that the draft excluding part of the flap did freeze up when it was wet and frosty outside and I had to give it a hard push to break the ice and clean.For me, this is not so much an issue as our dogs are not outside at night but I can imagine for outdoor cats this might be an issue. So, if you are prone to cold climates and want to rely on this flap to let your cat inside during the night I would suggest keeping up with keeping it as dry and clean as possible before bed to give it the best chance of being able to swing throughout the night.It also comes with a template made of card so you know how big of a hole to cut which was also very handy.It's tinted on the outside so you can't see in but you can see out which our dogs like so they can stalk the birds outside without getting cold in the winter haha.For needs similar to mine, I would reccomend.

This is fitted in an interior door, hall to garage, and is ideal for such an application it is easy to fit despite the tiny, indistinct, totally incomprehensible graphic instructions supplied. I made a template (Not supplied! Why?) on stiff paper and marked the door with this then drilled a hole at each corner and with a jigsaw cut out the hole. Stressful time - What if I do something wrong and ruin the door? My wife hovering in the background muttering "helpful comments", dire warnings and admonitions. But all went well. Not least because this is a low tech item and is therefore easy to figure out and is quite forgiving for the amateur handyman. I have to say that it is not the most durable looking contraption (catraption?) and I would not fit it to a door leading to the great outdoors, the flap holding/pivoting lugs seem weak and it is easy to imagine a determined marauding moggy bashing it aside.I am fitting a much more expensive microchip activated flap on the garage door that leads to the great outdoors to provide the security and safety our cat will need.All I need now is a cat!The kitten arrives on June 28th so will start using the Rosewood flap almost straight away to, initially, access his litter tray and after a month or so and when he has had his chip implanted the microchip detector flap to get outside.

I originally bought an alternative cat flap based on my boys sizes and weights, but having fitted it, it soon became obvious that it was far too small.I don't think my boys are excessively large, they are Siamese cross and weigh 6-6.5kg. I genuinely did not believe they would need a large cat flap - but I was wrong.This cat flap is excellent quality and fits beautifully in our wooden kitchen door. Absolutely no draught gets through, but it is still easy enough for the boys to push.The locking mechanism could perhaps be simpler, but once you suss out how it works, it's no big deal. It's a very solid, quality item.My boys are 3 years old and had never used a cat flap before, with the exception of the previous purchase that was too small. Having struggled with that one, I wondered if it would put them off trying with this one, but the initial hesitance lasted no more than a few hours before they realised they could get through this one so much easier.I admit, the original cat flap was cheaper, but you can't put a price on your cats happiness, and it's not as if this was overpriced, it is worth every penny.Definitely recommended.
