Roudybush Daily Maintenance Bird Food, Small, 10-Pound

Great bird food my parrot is a happy camper.

Rowdy.Bush is a good brand and my bird seems to really like this. I have a Malik and he had been on another brand of pellets and I felt like it was time to give him something a little bit different. He seems to like these just fine.

Great bird pellet for picky eaters. My yellow nape had become sickly from 20+ years of eating seed mixes and the vet convinced me to change my birds diet. I tried several brands and he wouldn’t touch it. I bought this pellet type and used some juice to make it more appealing. After I got him to start eating this I completely removed all seeds and never went back since. I quickly stopped wetting the pellets with juice and he was now eating the pellets dry. Roudybush greatly improved his health. All symptoms of liver disease went away and his skin and feathers became noticeably better.The Roudybush small pellet is a good size for African greys and amazon parrots. The maintenance variety is his basic stable and some times I provide the low fat and the senior diet. The maintenance pellet in 10 pound bag is most economical. The price is almost half of what the local pet shop charges and seems to be fresher. Keep it in a cool dry area.

I’ve been using Roudy Bush for 10 years, since I’ve had my bronze wing pionis. I only use this a part of her diet, but it lasts well over a year. I take out enough feed for a couple weeks and keep the rest frozen. Amazon has the best pricing by far.

I can’t *personally* say Roudybush is delicious, but I gave it a 5-star rating for taste because our black headed caique absolutely loves it! He’s been fed Roudybush his whole life and he’s now 13 years old, in perfect health, and his vet says he’ll probably live forever. Seriously, Roudybush is amazing food. It was developed by an avian nutritionist, Tom Roudybush, based on his 16 years of nutritional research in the Department of Avian Sciences at the University of California, Davis. It is THE BEST food for your bird, bar none. Of course, you should talk to your vet before switching your bird’s diet and learn the correct way to transition from one type of food to another so your bird won’t be stressed by the change and/or reject the new food. The other piece of advice I have is that you might want to experiment with different sizes of pellets (plus or minus one size from the recommended size for the species) to get the best “fit” and minimize waste. For example, the bag recommends “Mini” for caiques, but that’s too small for our bird, so we feed him “Small” pellets and that’s perfect for him.

Roudybush is the best parrot food you can buy without spending a fortune. There are some very high end brands like Harrison's which are just as good, but you'll pay a lot more for them.Most commercial bird foods are wholly seed based, which is way too fatty for parrots. Other commercial pellet based feeds have sugars and coloring added which isn't natural and definitely isn't good for your feathered friend.Roudybush was carefully formulated and crafted from high quality ingredients, and designed to provide the optimal balanced diet for parrots. I have had my parrot for 39 years and he has been on this food as soon as he was able to eat it. This food provides all the nutrition needed for a healthy diet. I have not had any vet bills and he is a very healthy and happy.parrot

I have used this food for several years for my parrots. It is only part of their daily food mix. I think this is one of the better ones for the price.
