A great way to maintain vitamin D levels in the high-normal range.
Recent medical studies suggest that intermittent high doses (e.g., 50,000 units every 10 days) are associated with a higher fall risk than 5000 units every day. As an endocrinologist, I'm not completely convinced at the direction of causality.These are just fine for maintaining a vitamin D level in the high-normal range.Note that D3 (cholecalciferol) is superior in efficacy and circulating levels compared to D2 (ergocalciferol), so this is great. I recommend it to my patients, and take it myself.
